MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR COMMUNITY

Currently, there are more than 130,000 students in Illinois schools that are not proficient in English. Unfortunately, many of these students are falling behind because the demand for “highly qualified” bilingual and ESL teachers outweighs the supply.

The Bilingual Transition to Teaching Project is looking for qualified and passionate individuals that want to change career paths and become bilingual teachers. Could you be the teacher that makes the difference for children in your community?

BTTT is now accepting applications for Cohort 9. This will be the project’s last and final cohort.

Please note that classes for this final cohort will be located either in the South Chicago or Southwest Suburban areas. A decision to implement Cohort 9 and its location will be determined by the number of qualified applications. The final location will be determined after review and selection of the final pool of candidates. All applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning in order to apply, as well as meet the minimum application criterion. The deadline to apply is July 15, 2008.
